The state only covers a small share of public school costs, so local property taxes fill the gap. Yanni will push to raise the state's share of school funding so districts stop pushing the bill onto homeowners, and to expand the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program for seniors and working families.
Simpler, cheaper rules for small businesses.
Cap state licensing fees. Simplify sales-tax filings for smaller businesses. Stop piling new compliance costs on the shops and trades that keep Main Streets alive. He runs one himself. He knows what the paperwork feels like.
Utilities that don't surprise you.
Support stronger Public Utility Commission oversight and real consumer protections when rates spike. Pennsylvanians shouldn't find out in October that their winter bill is going to double.
